The planning process for technology can be a real pain. That’s why we have created our new Designer website; now you can create a customized design plan that automatically generates a quote for your project. We have condensed this into a simple, three-step process.
Choose a Background
The first thing you will need to do is select a background that will act as a “canvas” upon which you can design your project. This is located in a toolbar on the left hand side of the screen. Here, you can upload a photo of the room you would like to enhance, allowing you to see exactly what our equipment would look like in your home. You can even create multiple rooms for whole home projects! For customers who do not have a photo or are merely seeking a convenient estimate, we have a wide selection of preloaded backgrounds to choose from.
Once you have selected a room photo to use as a background, the next step is to add the equipment for your project. Our products are arranged by category in a toolbar on the left-hand side of the page. To add equipment, simply select a category, then click and drag the individual components over to the room photo in the center. Releasing the component will drop it at its current location, where it can be rotated, resized, or relocated. Once you have all of your equipment placed precisely where you want it, you’re ready to move on to the next step.
Get a Quote
Once you have finished designing your project, you’ll want to see what it costs. When you start the quoting process, you may be asked a handful of very simple yes-or-no questions. The purpose of these is to determine whether any hidden equipment is required, such as an amplifier for speakers. Once you have made your selections, you will be taken to a screen displaying your design photo and an itemized estimate for the project. The print button on the right-hand side of the screen will allow you to print either the design, the quote, or both.
The ability to design and see what your completed project will look like minimizes the the risk of miscommunication present in the typical transition from estimate to installation. Even if you are not planning to purchase, have fun designing your dream system and try it out today!
