Hi, how do I turn off the closed caption on my Crestron remote?
Hi Rose,
The crestron remote is merely a tool that mimics button presses of original remotes. Every service offers different methods to turn on or off it’s closed captioning. For example of your utilizing DirecTV you’ll need to turn the closed captioning of in DirecTV’s own menu system. Same goes for Comcast, Apple TV, Roku etc… they all have their own menus with an option to turn on or off closed captioning. If you don’t have the original remotes the Menu button on the crestron remote will open the menu for whatever service your using.
When we design a system our questionnaire indicates an option for purchasing only devices with dedicated closed captioning toggle buttons. These devices are rare and more expensive but This allows us to add a simple CC button that will toggle them on/off without all the hassle of menus.
